  • Personal training: ongoing.
  • Cycling and HIIT classes: opening Tuesday, September 8th.

What to Expect: Personal Training Sessions

  • Please wear an acceptable face mask that covers both mouth and nose when entering the studio and during your training session. We have them available for sale if you need one.
  • Use hand sanitizer in the vestibule when entering and leaving the studio. Note that hand sanitizer is not effective for washing soiled hands. Please use soap and warm water if hands are soiled.
  • Check in at the desk for health screening and a contactless temperature check.
  • Read and initial the declaration form regarding COVID-19 protocols.
  • Personal training clients can use the locker rooms and shower facilities if they choose to.
  • Bring your own workout towel.
  • Bring your own water bottle. The water fountain will be closed, but the refill station will be open.
  • We will not be giving out demo MyZone Belts. We have belts for sale and we highly encourage you to get one to maximize the efficiency of your training session.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing by using a tissue.
  • Clean your hands regularly with hand sanitizer during your training session.
  • Wash your hands with soap and warm water when using the bathroom.
  • Please refrain from touching your eyes, nose, or mouth during your training session.
  • Although we clean all the equipment after each use, we encourage each client to use wet wipes to wipe down equipment before and after use.
  • Coaching will be continued as usual during training sessions while observing the recommended six feet of safe physical distancing as best we can.

What to Expect: Cycling and HIIT Classes

  • Doors will be locked until 10 minutes before class starts. This helps us to maintain social distancing and avoid congregating at the desk.
  • Only one person should enter the vestibule at a time. Please be patient with this.
  • Wear an acceptable face mask that covers both mouth and nose when entering IslandFit and during classes. Per CDC and DOH guidelines, bandanas, buffs, and gaiters are not acceptable face coverings. We have face masks available for sale if you need one.
  • Use hand sanitizer in the vestibule when entering and leaving the studio. Note that hand sanitizer is not effective for washing soiled hands. Please use soap and warm water if hands are soiled.
  • Check in at the desk for health screening and contactless temperature check.

  • Only two people can be in the locker rooms at any time.
  • Showers will not be available during group classes.
  • Bring your own workout towel.

  • Maximum number of people in a class is sixteen. It is very important to sign up for classes ahead of time. This maximum number may change in the future.
  • It is important to sign up for classes ahead of time. Online registration for classes is open 48 hours before the class is offered.
  • Cycling and HIIT classes will be designed to facilitate physical distancing between members. We will set up the studio with equipment before each HIIT class.
  • The HIIT class format will be altered to allow members to quickly wipe equipment down that was utilized during the class.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing by using a tissue.
  • Clean your hands regularly during the HIIT class with hand sanitizer.
  • Wash your hands with soap and warm water when using the bathroom.
  • Please help us wipe down equipment used at the end of each class.
  • Always observe six feet of physical distancing as best you can.

Memberships

  • All ongoing three-month and monthly memberships will be reactivated on Tuesday, September 8th.
  • All unused guest passes will be honored regardless of expiration date, and must be used within three months of re-opening.
  • All trial memberships will be credited for the time remaining as of March 16th. We will notify everyone about the time remaining on their trial membership.

Cleaning and Sanitation

  • We will allow at least 30 minutes between classes and training sessions to disinfect the studio and equipment used in classes and training sessions.
  • We ask that you clean your hands with hand sanitizer when entering and leaving the studio, and frequently throughout your visit.
  • Please use disinfectant wipes on equipment before and after use. Additional disinfectant wipe stations are available around the studio.
  • Our heating and cooling system has been upgraded to use air filtration with a minimum efficiency reporting value (MERV) of MERV-13.
  • In addition to existing continuous cleaning protocols, we will add a rigorous cleaning twice a week after the facility is closed.

Health Checks

  • Please stay home if you are sick, someone in your household is sick, or if you have allergies and cannot control sneezing. VERY IMPORTANT.
  • All members will be required to read, understand, and initial the mandatory Health Declaration every time they visit IslandFit. This declaration determines if the individual has
    1. Experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
    2. Has knowingly been in close contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
    3. Tested positive for COVID-19 through a diagnostic test in the past 14 days.
    4. Traveled within a country or state with significant community spread of COVID-19 for longer than 24 hours in the past 14 days.
  • Members will have body temperatures taken at the desk each time they visit. Per CDC guidelines, individuals with a body temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be permitted to partake in fitness activities and must leave the studio immediately.
  • Members will be asked to alert IslandFit (eke@islandfit.fit or call 585 404 0076) if they test positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of their last studio visit.

Class Size and Schedule

  • Check our website and MindBody app for the weekly class schedule.
  • Maximum number of people in a class is sixteen. It is important to sign up for classes ahead of time. This maximum number may change in the future.
  • Online registration for classes is open 48 hours before the class is offered.
  • Please sign up for classes online. If you cannot make a scheduled class, please cancel online to allow someone else to take your spot.
  • Class schedules and sizes may change from week to week depending on needs and recommendations from state and local governments. Please check our website and MindBody app.
  • Cycling and HIIT classes will be designed to facilitate physical distancing between members. We will set up the studio with equipment before each HIIT class.
  • We will mark off cardio equipment that are not part of the classes with orange cones to help facilitate safety and physical distancing.

Physical Distancing Etiquette

  • It is required by the state that we maintain 50% or less of our maximum occupancy at any given time. (starting May 15th 2021)
  • We kindly ask that you practice physical distancing etiquette during classes and whenever in the studio.
  • Please limit the personal belongings that you bring into the studio. Bring the essentials (like phone, keys, water bottle, and workout towel) and leave anything else in your vehicle.
  • Store any belongings in one of the cubbies or lockers, and take them with you when you leave.
  • No high fives or handshakes.
